Decca graduated from Virginia Tech with a Masters in Counseling Education. She is a National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional School Counselor (LPSC), and Trauma Specialist.

She has worked as a counselor in public schools, private practice, and non-profits. Currently, she works part-time in a specialized program at Family Service of Roanoke Valley.
